それぞれの生徒に異なる情報を持たせ、その情報を交換させるために特定の文法項目（今回は疑問文の作成）を使わせる。テストではなく授業内で行うタスクとしても使用できる。テストとして使用する場合には、教師があらかじめ採点基準を設けておき、タスクが遂行できたか、作成した英文は文法的に適切だったか、等についてそれぞれ点数をつけるとよい。
